Copperplate is a beautifully graceful calligraphy style using a pointed nib.

We will begin with a brief introduction to the history and development of Copperplate and then practise the technique of ‘Pressure and Release’ by performing exercises with careful consideration to posture and rhythm. We will learn to write the lower case letters, identifying the basic strokes, entry and exit strokes and then to join the letters up into words.
