I have always loved how calligraphy flows around circles or spirals, adding a unique dimension to written work. Rachel Yallop’s workshop was a delight and met all our expectations. We began by repeating a single word around four sides, focusing on flourishes for balance and symmetry—an excellent technique for cards.

We then moved on to writing around circles, using a maths formula to calculate the radius and ensuring accurate spacing. Finally, we created spirals with compasses and rulers, crafting text that flowed seamlessly outward while maintaining alignment. Rachel’s expert guidance and personal attention made the day both inspiring and highly enjoyable.
