We had our first Zoom workshop on Saturday with Adele Dark. There were 17 participants in total and Josie and Sue were hosting. Adele explained aspects of colour theory to us in the morning with advice on cutting letters. Over lunch we were encouraged to paint sheets of paper with gouache and use the dry sheets to cut out test squares and letters. In the afternoon session we looked at composition and started our own designs based on a short text. Thanks to everyone for getting to grips with the technology and although it wasn’t as good as meeting up at Highnam and we missed the social aspect, it gave us a lot of ideas for developing our cut-outs for a group feedback session in two weeks.
